Electronic Glasses, Eye Focus Adjust

Disease patients farsightedness and nearsightedness, shortly mutually do not need glasses because of the change minus or plus they suffered. Recently a company from the United States, PixelOptics, managed to create an electronic glasses, with the power of the lens which can be set-set according to user needs.

Unlike traditional glasses that can only be fitted with a particular lens that suits a myopic patient, the focus of these glasses can be changed at any time so they can see objects at various distances range, both near and far. In addition, glasses have not experienced many changes since it was first discovered by Benjamin Franklin, about the 1780s. However, this finding could be a great solution for users of eyeglasses.

Then, how these glasses work? Apparently these two lenses consist of a layer of liquid crystal capable of changing the refractive properties, based on the input electric current is applied to the lens. To adjust the focus of the glasses, this lens provides three modes of operation: atomatis adjustment, manual on, or manually off. For manual mode, users simply press a button in the right frame glasses to find the right focus.

However, long-focal glasses can also be changed automatically, because glasses have a motion sensor that is able to detect the user’s eye movements. For example, when a user suddenly read a book.
In addition, the electronic spectacles is claimed could provide a wider visual area compared to a regular progressive lenses. Not only that, PixelOptics also claimed to have less distortion of progressive lenses. Hopefully this can be good news for users of spectacles in the world.
